Monthly Wisdom

I love September! First off, it's my birthday month (notice I said month--not day!). I'm one of those people that love to celebrate my birth-day all month long. Even though the years keep adding up, I don't pay them much mind. I feel much younger than my chronological age reads. And I have a Mother who has always believed she was at least 10 years younger than her age. I've got her good genes and her belief in numbers (or the lack of them).

I hope we are all able to elegantly move through the changes and transitions that will continue to affect us as the corporate world, the government and the economy continue to make changes on a large scale.

Words and Watercolors is moving along. Over 2 months into this and I've had success with orders (not as much as I'd like but then I'm impatient). I'm currently reprinting cards and working on my website with Sarah, my graphic designer. We hope to be up and running soon with the website so you can see all the cards both inside and out! (they have a nice detail inside and the printing of text is in color rather than black).

I'm open to any ideas for products to add to the line (send an email to wordwater@comcast.net). I'm hoping that by January, I am able to add a number of cards in addition to other product as in magnets or journals or such. Also looking into licensing my work on other products. I've been such a busy bee that I've had not made the time to go out and paint. That has to be a priority!!

Fall always brings us back to the familiar routines of school starting, football weekends and the leaves changing colors that indicate a new season is upon us. Having gone through so much change and transition the past few years, I'm learning to welcome change rather than be fearful of it. I met a woman last month who also gave up her job (financial security) to pursue her life's dream. Though she was initially surprised at the success that followed she was more surprised at her feelings of grief that arose. We discussed the respective losses we felt in letting go of our old worlds as we moved into a new world. She said it rather eloquently, I had to give up so much of who I was in order to become who I now am. So true. I hope we are all able to elegantly move through the changes and transitions that will continue to affect us as the corporate world, the government and the economy continue to make changes on a large scale.

enJOY September in all it's Glory!

Last but not least, I’m posting some pics of my son’s artwork. He has developed a unique way of screenprinting and creates interesting canvases. Check them out!
